Jiu-Jitsu, which means "gentle art", is the oldest form of martial art.
Jiu-Jitsu is a strategic, relatively nonviolent, highly effective martial art. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as we know it today, was developed by Carlos Gracie Sr. and his younger brother Helio who further refined the art. Helio took the art of Jiu-Jitsu from it's original form which relied heavily on take downs and throws, to instead an art form that caters to the weaker and smaller person. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu evolved into an art form that does not rely upon strength and size to defend against a bigger stronger attacker but instead uses a combination of techniques that utilize leverage and joint holds to stop and neutralize the attacker. The would be victim is able to control the attacker without the use of punches, kicks, elbow or knee strikes. As you can see, this is what makes Jiu-Jitsu the gentle art.

Come train with 2X Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Master World Champion Ranieri Paiva, a native Brazilian with a black belt under Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Helio Soneca. Ranieri has over 22 years of experience and is a proficient instructor as well as a fierce competitor holding titles in national and international competitions. In addition to skillfully teaching the basics to new students and children, Ranieri has coached students to the rank of black belt and to the podium at world competitions.
We offer an all inclusive Jiu-Jitsu program from our fundamental's classes to our competition training classes. Our programs are designed for men and women who are looking for a fun and dynamic way to improve physical fitness while learning self defense up to those who desire to compete at local and or world levels. We have an extremely active and successful competition team. Our programs are for everyone! Although we offer classes for different levels, all are welcome to attend any class.

Our self defense program is effective for all regardless of strength, athletic ability or age. Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that utilizes transitions, positional dominance and leverage which can give any person an advantage against a larger and stronger attacker. Through various self defense techniques and strategies you will greatly increase the chances of escaping or subduing an attacker, whether you are standing or on the ground.
